Happy Memorial Day, friends! I hope you all are enjoying the day with your family and friends. We had family over this weekend, but for actual Memorial Day, it’ll just be us, barbecuing and spending quality time together.
For those of you who are remembering lost loved ones, I hope your day is filled with sweet memories. We honor their sacrifice today, and thank them for their service.
On this green bank, by this soft stream,
We set today a votive stone;
That memory may their deed redeem,
When, like our sires, our sons are gone.
Spirit, that made those heroes dare
To die, and leave their children free,
Bid Time and Nature gently spare
The shaft we raise to them and thee.
