Who thinks washing their makeup brushes is a big hassle? Are you too lazy to do it because you don’t have space in your bathroom? Does your counter space look anything like mine?
I posted this a while back on Instagram. Because I need an intervention.
Nine times out of ten, I’m too lazy to wash my brushes because I don’t want to deal with the hassle of clearing off my counter tops, because I know that once I clean off the counter top, I’ll be giving it a thorough wipe it down, which ends up with me wiping the mirror down. And because the mirrors are sparkly, the soap scum on the shower doors will be more obvious in the reflection in the mirror, which will then spur me on to moping down the floors, which in turn leads to cleaning the toilet because how can you have a clean bathroom unless the toilet bowl is clean?
All this just to wash makeup brushes…
Anyway, I found this amazing tip on drying your makeup brushes when counter space is limited! No more spur-of-the-moment bathroom cleaning (all The Lazys, cheer with me!). Everything you need to dry your brushes is already in your bathroom:
- Elastic Hair Ties (rubberbands work too)
- An available towel bar
Drying your brushes upside down is a great way to improve the longevity of your brushes. Drying them this way keeps water from traveling into the base of the brush, down into the bristles, breaking down the glue that holds it all together (read: no more shedding brushes!), so why not give this a try? The least it’ll do is require you to move a towel over to the other side of the bar!
Ready for a quick step-by-step? When you give it a go, let me know just how simple it is!
