The Kitchen Sink

I Love You, Internet. Not You, SOPA/PIPA.

[ The Kitchen Sink | Vol. 5 ]

Dear People of the Internet,

I don’t want The Internet to change. I like it the way it is:

  1. It’s how I get my tabloid news without the shame of being seen in public reading that garbage
  2. Lets me connect with people from all over the world
  3. Allows me to share my day-to-day happenings with bloggy friends
  4. Let’s me finish a complete thought without any person under four years old interrupting me

It also tells me there are several people who take the time to look at what my kitchen sink looks like every Thursday:

I Love You, Internet. Not You, SOPA PIPA. by LifeDarling.comLook! The first empty sink in five weeks! Wowowow!

But if SOPA and PIPA pass, it could become a very different place. So please, let’s stand up and talk to Congress about chucking SOPA and PIPA (PIPA goes to vote on January 24). Because I’d want to be able to retweet that video my cousin’s best friend’s boss’s mother-in-law’s granddaughter posted of cats singing a spoof of “All The Single (Cat) Ladies”. If it existed. And if it did, I’d definitely find it on YouTube, but Oh wait! If SOPA/PIPA passes, I wouldn’t be able to find it, because that song is copyrighted material and the record company could shut down YouTube. Then no one would get to see that kind of cat awesomeness. Also, am I the only one who thinks “sopapilla” when I read SOPA/PIPA?

Listen, I know it’s a lot when people start talking about mobilizing and talking to our senators – I mean, it’s all I can do to wash dishes every day, never mind writing my Senator! But I’m thinking this time might be one of those times where I need to take action… and if I can do it, so can you!

If you don’t know your Senators’ names or contact info, no problem. On my sidebar is a widget where you can get that information! Just fill it out and voilà! It’ll even give you their Facebook AND Twitter info!

The Internet is so awesome. Let’s keep it that way.
